Lessons from the Ark (Part-1): Wait Until God Says “Come Out”
Long story short π:
Back in Genesis 6 and 7, God saw how messed up the world had become. So he decided to wipe everything out with a flood.
But Noah found favour in God’s eyes.
So God gave him a heads-up:
"Build an ark — for yourself, your family, and every kind of animal. I’m about to send the rain.”
And Noah did it.
Step by step.
Exactly how God told him.
Later, when it was time, God told Noah to get inside the ark. (Genesis:7:1)
Now think about it —
If God clearly said “Get in”, wouldn’t He also be the one to say ππΌ
“Now get out” when the time is right?
But here’s what actually happened…
After the 40 days and 40 nights of rain, Noah didn’t hear anything.
He might have waited for some time but later
He tried figuring it out himself.
First, he sent out a raven. It came back.
Then he sent a dove. That came back too.
Then he tried again and the dove brought back a leaf.
A small sign, maybe a little hope.
Then he sent the dove again… and this time, it didn’t come back.
So maybe Noah thought,
“Alright, maybe it’s time to step out?”
God did not tell him to execute these steps…
But guess what?
Even after all that, God was the one who finally told Noah —
“Now come out of the ark.” (Genesis:8:15,16)
Here’s the point:
Noah had God’s voice at the start.
But during the waiting period, he leaned on his own methods: birds, signs, guesses.
And don’t get me wrong, that’s human. We all do that.
But the part we miss is this
God told Noah how long it would rain.
But he didn't say how long the waiting after the rain would last.
No timeline. No updates. Just silence.
And that’s exactly where many of us get stuck.
God gives us a strong start —
A word, a direction, a calling.
We obey. We go in.
But then when it gets quiet, we panic.
We start checking, testing, overthinking, second-guessing.
We send out our “birds”…
We chase signs…
And sometimes we lose sleep, resources, peace all because we didn’t wait for
His next instruction.
So here’s what I’ve learned (and still learning):
If God told you to get in, He will also tell you when it’s time to come out.
Don’t move based on assumptions.
Don’t burn yourself out trying to “figure it out.”
You were never the planner anyway.
Wait for His word.
Not just to start something but also to know when to step out.

Hope this connects with you somehow.
And if you’re trying to get closer to God — don’t make it a big formula.π±➕➖➗π°♾️
Just open your Bible, take your time with it, and let it talk to you.
It’s usually in those quiet, personal moments that He says the most.
