Faithful Over a Little

 Faithful Over a Little

"You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master." – Matthew 25:21 (b)

A while back, as I was meditating on this verse, the Lord taught me a simple but powerful principle: if we are faithful in the small things, bigger things will follow. But before we focus on what we can receive, our primary goal should always be staying connected to God.

Being Faithful in the Little Things

If we take the small things in life seriously, we will eventually receive the things we truly desire. Let me explain with a simple example:

Imagine a man named Matt who lives in a rented house. Since he doesn’t own the place, he doesn’t bother keeping it clean. He scribbles on the walls, neglects repairs, and doesn’t take care of it because, in his mind, it’s not his house anyway. With this attitude, he is unlikely to ever own a home of his own because he hasn’t learned to be responsible for what was already entrusted to him.

Life often presents us with small opportunities to test our attitude and faithfulness before we receive something bigger.

Small Actions Matter

This is when I started paying more attention to the little things whether in relationships, responsibilities, or everyday life.

We’ve all heard elders say, If you help an older person today by offering them a seat on a bus one day, someone will do the same for you or your loved ones.

The lesson is simple: just because something isn’t yours doesn’t mean you should take it lightly. Every action you take shapes your own growth and future.

When we are faithful with what we have no matter how small, God sees it and entrusts us with more.

Faithfulness in Everyday Life

Faithfulness isn’t just about big responsibilities it starts with the simple things. Respecting people, taking care of your body, being grateful for even the smallest blessings, spreading peace, taking responsibility for your actions, and being trustworthy in your work—these are all ways to show faithfulness in daily life.

When you are honest and true to what has been entrusted to you, doors of opportunity will open. Blessings, happiness, and peace will follow, not because of luck, but because God honours those who are faithful in the little things.
